Films with Cold Sealant

Films coated with cold seal enables the packaging of heat-sensitive products like ice cream or chocolate bars.
The insides of the films are bonded quickly and permanently – in comparison to the conventional process, the resulting flexible packaging is not welded shut, but rather sealed with pressure. This permits high packaging speeds.

Films coated with cold seal maintain the taste and form of the product during the packaging procedure. The materials used range from transparent and white-opaque to metallized films that are equipped with special barrier properties according to customer requirements.

In the NORDENIA manufacturing process, the films are printed and a release paint is applied. The insides of the films are then coated with a cold seal. This guarantees easy further processing of the films, which are supplied as rollstock. NORDENIA produces films coated with cold seal in line by using the flexographic and gravure printing methods, depending on the requirement profile.
